Royal Family News – Meghan Markle Loves Fashion

Let’s start with her infamous Oprah Winfrey tell-all in which she ripped her husband Prince Harry’s family. For that trashy event, she wore a black dress covered in white lotus flowers.

According to Town and Country magazine, the lotus represents a rebirth in Buddhism and is infamous for being able to, “flourish despite seemingly challenging conditions.” Sound like someone we know?

Watchers also noted that it was similar to a dress Wallis Simpson once wore. Was this a little jab at the royals, who snubbed both Wallis and Meghan after they led princes astray?

Both were American divorcee commoners who married into the royal family and caused drama and upset.

During the interview with Markle also wore Princess Diana’s Cartier bracelet. The diamond bracelet was key in the couple’s marriage as well as Harry had two diamonds taken from it to create Markle’s three-diamond engagement ring.

Speculation also occurred after Meghan wore a white dress during her and Harry’s Oceanic tour. The dress was worn to greet people in Sydney, Australia and it was designed by Australian Karen Gee. The frock cost $1,000 and was named the Blessed Dress which could have had to do with her pregnancy. A thousand dollars will buy a lot of Pampers but apparently, Meghan thought the simple sleeveless dress was worth every penny that her father-in-law Prince Charles probably spent on it.

Then there is the controversial wedding in which Meghan married Prince Harry. It’s been reported that Meghan wanted to pay homage to the Commonwealth countries on her wedding day. Clare Waight Keller, the first female artistic director of fashion house Givenchy, was tasked with making it happen.

To please Meghan she made a custom veil featuring the national flowers of each of the Commonwealth nations. This means that someone hand-embroidered the flowers seen in Jamaica, Malaysia, Canada, Namibia, and other countries on the lavish veil. So far there’s been no word on what Meghan thought of it, or if Harry yelled at the designer, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!”
