British royal family news reveals that the tipping point has come in the war of the Markles vs. everyone else: a high profile journalist has thrown down the gauntlet to say, “liar, liar, pants on fire,” on the eve of the finale of Netflix’s Meghan & Harry.

According to respected Brit reporter Rebecca English, “The suggestion that negative stories were routinely ‘fed’ to the media by Buckingham Palace as part of a ‘war’ against Meghan, or to negate less favorable stories about other senior royals, is categorically untrue.” Her declaration comes on the heels of the release of a trailer promoting the Markle reality show in which Megs makes outrageous accusations.

Among Meghan’s allegations is the claim that she was fed to the media wolves as a sacrifice in order to keep royal darlings William and Kate safe. She claims that the palace covered for the Wales’ but Meghan was left to fend for herself. Nope, that did not happen according to English. She makes a good case for herself:

“as a long-standing royal correspondent on the country’s biggest-selling daily newspaper, I can only presume that those stories would have, on occasions, been leaked to me. And if my job was as easy as sitting by the phone waiting for a friendly man (or woman) in grey suit to ring me, then I wouldn’t be the walking candidate for Botox that I so badly am.”

She refutes Meghan’s claims that the media were fed lies about her and husband Harry courtesy of the palace: “I can honestly say that I never heard a negative word said about the couple until at least six months after their marriage – and then not from anyone inside the palace walls. Indeed the opposite was true. As the trickle of hints that all was not well in their household became a torrent, palace aides did nothing but firefight for the couple.”

English even spoke up for Harry, saying she protected the louche prince when reporting: “Harry’s frankly rude and unprofessional behavior towards the Press was also never reflected in my copy. The impressive charity work he was doing deserved to be the star of the show. In fact I have always had great sympathy with the prince’s historic hostility to the media in general and wanted to try improve relations.”

Harry and Meghan are roasting their own turkey long after Thanksgiving has come and gone—they have torched their London bridge and frankly there’s no way back when one bites the hand that protects them. Take that for data.
