As for Prince Harry, it feels like a miracle to him to have a boy and then a girl, so now they’ll soon get a well-rounded family of four.
According to Meghan Markle, when they think of their daughter, it makes them also think of all the other girls and young women around the world. So let’s just say Meghan and Harry’s baby number 2 is already making an impact on the world even before she arrives in it.
Royal Family News – People Are Now More Inclined Than Ever To Bet On the Name Philippa for the Sussexes Unborn Daughter
There’s a big question as to why people believe that Prince Harry will name his daughter after her deceased great-grandfather. It could be to honor his memory, or as a tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh who never got to meet Harry’s daughter due to arrive sometime this summer.
The Duke of Edinburgh died on April 9, a few days after arriving home from the hospital and a few weeks after Harry and Meghan’s tell-all Oprah interview in March.
Following the death of Prince Philip, a U.K. gambling site Ladbrokes has seen the name Philippa grow in popularity amongst people’s prediction of Meghan and Harry’s daughter’s name-to-be. The betting odds on the name have gotten slashed to 3/1.
“The support for baby Philippa is showing no signs of slowing down, and we’ve been forced to trim the odds again that it’s the name for Harry and Meghan’s daughter,” revealed Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes.
If they later paid tribute to Harry’s grandfather by choosing the name Philippa, they wouldn’t be the first royals to go down that trail. Harry’s cousins Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall both paid tribute to Britain’s longest-serving royal consort by giving their newly-born sons the middle name Philip.
Other Name Predictions For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Daughter
Apart from the growing support for Philippa, royal insiders and fans are likely to name Diana as the top name on the Sussexes’ list of baby names for their daughter.
Also high on the list is Prince Harry’s grandmother’s name Elizabeth.
As for the Ladbrokes leaderboard, Princess Diana, Harry’s deceased mother, and the reigning British Monarch have strongly secured their place at the top of the list with the odds 5/1 and 10/1 respectively.
Allegra (10/1), Alexandria (12/1), Grace (16/1), Emma (16/1), Rose (16/1), Alice (16/1), and Victoria (16/1) are other favorites.
Though looking back in the history of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s choice of a moniker for their first child, Archie, the name they eventually went with, didn’t really make it into the list of possible baby names for the Sussexes’ son on the betting companies radar. Only time will tell how well people’s predictions work or how close to repetition history gets.
