Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Receiving “Charity” Prize

Royal Family News: GQ Men Of The Year Awards Bends Over Backward, Meghan Markle Receiving “Charity” PrizeBritish royal family news shows that the world is about to learn much more about Meghan Markle’s charity work because she receives an award for it on November 16. Which leaves about eight weeks to actually do something.

An unnamed source told The Sun that the Duchess of Sussex will be gifted a prize at the 2022 GQ Men of the Year Awards in London where tickets go for £5,999.

Royal Family News – Meghan Is Charitable

And apparently Meghan is not getting just any old award, she is getting, “one of the top awards of the evening,” at the event held at the Tate Modern. Meghan is expected to be there to pick up her award although last year, Harry the Duke of Sussex appeared at the awards live from California via video link.

The source claims that for Meghan, who refers to herself as a Duchess, this is a, “massive coup.” Especially since the world knows nothing of her charitable do-gooding. They say charity begins at home. But Megs has failed to visit her stroke and heart attack victim dad Thomas Markle and her feelings about her in-laws are rather well known and not under the umbrella labeled “charitable.”

Royal Family News – Why Is Meghan Receiving An Award?

But the source helpfully fills in the blank about why Meghan may be receiving such a distinguished award: “’She already has a close relationship with GQ due to her friendship with Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful which is also owned by Conde Nast. Edward is very much seen as a friend rather than a business acquaintance.”

What’s that other saying—it’s not what you know, it’s who you know? Yes, that one.

Royal Family News – Meghan Had An Entire Awards Show Moved

In more outrageous news, it seems the whole shebang was moved forward a month, “to accommodate the Sussexes.”

The show is always held in September 7 but Megs complained? And so the event was reportedly postponed, with the source spilling that, “Meghan would not have been able to attend as she was undertaking a mini tour of Europe with Prince Harry at the time.”

The mouthy source added, “Talks about the evening were already happening before The Queen’s passing so no doubt things will have to be re-evaluated to make sure it’s as respectful as possible.” Respectful. The organizers may have to educate the Markle’s on the meaning of the word beforehand Megs reaches the podium.
