Harry recently got slammed for congratulating the unemployed, but according to Pauline, his words were not in bad taste, they probably earned him praise and recognition from his target audience, heaven help that bunch.

In case you missed Harry’s latest ill-conceived hoof-in-mouth verbosity, he praised the people quitting jobs in the midst of the pandemic as some kind of woke heroes. Never mind that those same instigators are part of what has been termed the Boomerang Phenomenon because they are finding that air does not pay the rent nor buy soy milk lattes and thus are crawling back with their tails between their legs to ask for their jobs back.
According to Pauline, “Rather than being out of touch, his ‘celebration’ of job resignations will resonate particularly with Harry and Meghan’s target audience – the Millennials and Generation Z. I’m sure his opinions are influenced by Meghan but they also fit with their joint branding for the above reasons.”

She added, “This does seem to be a further step in building the Sussex brand as very independent from the Royal Family and showing it to be much more progressive and in touch with younger generations.”
That may very well be. But when one’s target audience cannot afford to support the Markle’s, e.g., buy their books, pay for streaming accounts, how will the brand stay alive?
No worries. As Pauline concludes, “There is even a ‘hippie’ vibe about the whole idea of dropping out of the rat race and seeking a more fulfilled lifestyle.” And we all know how that turned out for a generation of loved in dropouts who are now using walkers and canes to stroll to the Social Security Office.
