Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Admits That She Used To Love Watching The ‘Real Housewives’ Franchise

During the latest episode of her Archetypes podcast, the Duchess of Sussex told her guest Andy Cohen that her favorite show used to be the ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ because it felt so close to her own life as a Californian native, but also so ‘foreign.’

When Cohen joked that he wanted to make Meghan a part of the cast of the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ soon after she and Prince Harry moved back to California for the UK, Meghan laughed, “I was so eager to be on your show because I was such a Housewives fan at the time and I just couldn’t get booked Andy.”

When Cohen asked if Meghan still secretly watches episodes of ‘Real Housewives,’ she replied with, “Well, I will tell you the truth. I stopped watching the Housewives when my life had its own level of drama. That I stopped… I get why it was such a huge huge part of pop culture and when it began because you began with Orange County and I’m from California, at least. It felt remotely like a world that I knew but still felt so foreign.”

She also told Oprah Winfrey in her bombshell of an interview back in 2021 that life behind closed palace doors was so bad that she even contemplated suicide and that there were concerns among some royals over the color of her unborn baby’s skin.
