There’s a new report that suggests the Duchess of Sussex was interviewed by Vanity Fair eight days before Queen Elizabeth’s death and as a result had to be reinterviewed with questions about the late monarch. When asked about how she feels about Queen Elizabeth’s passing, Meghan told the publication, “There’s been such an outpouring of love and support. I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time. What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts. Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like. I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her. It’s been a complicated time, but my husband, ever the optimist, said, “Now she’s reunited with her husband.”

Yet, some royal journalists, like Matt Wilkinson over at The Sun, tweeted, “If I’m reading this correctly, Meghan did her video, photo shoot and interview eight days before Queen Elizabeth II died. But she was then reinterviewed later to answer questions put specifically about the Queen.”

Many of them wrote, “Perhaps she threatened the Queen and her family in this interview as well, like she did in the previous interview, and it had to be edited out,” along with, “So she must have said things about the Queen or rf in first one? They couldn’t just chop them out and issue without any reference to the Queen? Nope, cause that’s her biggest claim to fame.”

Another fan wrote, “Damage control. Redoing interviews, podcasts, book to edit their attacks on the royals after seeing how much support the btf has at the funeral. Markles are a disgrace.”

And then there was this comment, “She is actually using the Queen’s death for her own PR. Disgusting, but at this point I’m no longer shocked by how low she will sink.”
