Royal Family News: Meghan Predicted To Regret “Foolish” Decision To Snub The Coronation

British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry plans to be present for King Charles’ coronation on May 6 but his wife Meghan Markle has decided to sit this one out. Maybe she’ll be in better standing with her in-laws when William’s big day rolls around?

As the world weighs in on this monumental decision, one royal expert predicts Meghan will rue the day she decided to stay home in California rather than attend her father-in-law’s historic event.

Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Stays Home

Richard Kay told the royal talk show Palace Confidential that he thinks it would be better for everyone if the former basic cable actress was in attendance.

“It feels like a compromise,” he said, “Meghan staying away – I think she may come to regret that in the years to come, you don’t get very many coronations and to have a ringside seat at one is seems pretty foolish that she shouldn’t have accepted and come over.”

Some have speculated that Meghan is staying home so she will not have to hear the boo birds. In June both she and Harry were booed when they were in the UK for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

Kay added, “I think it is the wrong call. I think it would have been better for her and for the Royal Family if they’d both been there.”

He also called Harry’s decision to appear a “ceasefire.”

According to Kay, “If they can put their differences aside for Harry to come, then it does possibly show that there is a path for the future. But one thing I would say about this, is that this is not a truce in the war between the Royal Family and the Sussexes, it’s more of a ceasefire.”

But he asserted that Harry is capitulating on his demand that his family apologize to his wife for sins unmentioned: “You might remember there was a string of comments all these TV interviews he was giving, saying that they needed to sit down and discuss things, before they would even consider whether they would come, they wanted apologies that kind of thing and from everything I’ve heard, that simply hasn’t happened. Let’s be clear, I think that’s why Meghan isn’t coming because they haven’t got what they wanted.”
