Royal Family News: New Poll Reveals Which UK Royal Americans Like Least

British royal family news reveals that the most recent UK YouGov survey has some revealing data about how popular the country’s royals are in the US.

The latest poll comes on the heels of relocated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announcing that they are about to welcome a second child. How popular are the couple who prefer to be called the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in comparison to their royal family members?

Royal Family News – A New Poll Rates UK Royals Popularity

Not surprisingly, Queen Elizabeth II is the most popular royal, with 68% of Americans indicating that they have a positive view of the world’s longest reigning monarch. A scant 14% reported that they have a negative view of her.

The next most popular royals are her grandchildren, Prince William and Prince Harry coming in with a 66% and 62% positivity rating. Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge is well-regarded at 63%, but Harry’s wife Meghan Markle has a decidedly lower rating at 57%.

But the most unfavored member of the British royal family is Charles, Prince of Wales. About half (47%) of Americans do not have a favorable opinion of Princess Diana’s ex-husband.

Andrew, Duke of York is another controversial and disliked figure, like Charles his older brother. Nearly half of Americans hold a negative view (43%) of the duke. This decidedly negative tide of opinion may be due to his relationship with convicted, dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein died in jail after being charged with sex trafficking of a minor. Andrew has been accused of a similar crime yet he has not been to trial; reportedly the FBI want to talk to him but he has not done so.

In 2019, the Duke of York was dropped from the royal rotation of performing public duties after a BBC interview in which it was widely perceived afterward that he made his conduct seem even more shady.

Royal Family News – What Do Americans Think Of Megxit?

A January 2020 YouGov poll found that 50% of Americans supported the Markle’s decision to emigrate, while 7% were opposed. Harry and Meghan’s second child is likely to be born in the US.

YouGov polled 1,200 US adults on November 23, 2020 and data is weighted on age, gender, education level, political affiliation and ethnicity to be nationally representative of adults in the United States. The margin of error is approximately 4.4% for the overall sample.

    Would like to know where these so-called polls were done. Have never heard of them.
    H and MM are not much liked in the U.S. so I find it interesting that they got even a 57% approval rating!
