Royal Family News: Outrage After Prince George Forced To Watch Wimbledon When “Too Hot”

Royal Family News: Social Media Outrage After 8-Year Old Prince George Forced To Watch Wimbledon When “Too Hot”British royal family news shows that London is in the midst of a heat wave and on the hottest day of the year, Sunday, Wimbledon’s center court was expected to reach up to 104 F. Prince William, Kate Middleton and their son George watched the match from the royal box and at one point in the day George, in suit and tie, was heard to tell his dad he was “hot.”

The video of the little boy complaining about the heat got to some people who thought it bordering on child abuse to keep him suited up as they watched tennis. His dad and every other male was similarly dressed and women were in fashionable attire as there was a dress code. According to the Daily Beast, why wasn’t George, “in a smart polo shirt and chinos … he’s only 8!”

Was George Overheated

It was George’s first ever visit to the epic tennis championship in southwest London and afterward he met the winner Novak Djokovic and held the trophy. The Sun reported hearing George telling his dad it was “too hot,” but at the same time, “the impeccably behaved young prince barely showed a hint of boredom or restlessness for the entire four hours he was courtside and on show. For that he, and his parents, undoubtedly deserve great credit.” Not so much for Prince Louis at the Platinum Jubilee!

Prince George Is a Model Child

Many thought that Prince George was simply following the same protocol as the rest of the audience, with The Beast taking the opposite view: “dressing George up in a suit and tie was a reminder of the absurd and Victorian demands that the institution places on the Windsor children.”

“Turning them into glorified, suited show ponies at the most tender of ages, for example, seems to be hardwired into the palace’s DNA.”

IS Prince George Too Young To perform?

On the other side of the coin, some royal watchers praised the Cambridges for showing George the royal ropes ahead of his future role as monarch. The job description not only requires a stiff upper lip, it necessitates the royals following the time honored credo, ‘never complain, never explain.’

In that regard, George is off to a smashing start to a lifetime of being, “at work” and “on duty.” It was also mentioned that the late Princess Diana took Prince William to the same games dressed as George was. What do you think royal watchers, was George’s Wimbledon dress attire a fail or a just a requirement of the job?
