Royal Family News – Paddington Bear Was a Friend of the Queen
Yesterday it was announced by Buckingham Palace that over 1,000 bears have been collected after they were left for the queen outside of her residences in London and Windsor. What will happen to the adorable stuffies? They will all find good forever homes as they will be donated to charity.
And, to mark the announcement, the palace released a photograph of Queen Camilla in the Morning Room at Clarence House, surrounded by a large collection of bears.
The picture was taken last Thursday, which just so happened to be the 64th anniversary of the of the first Paddington bear book.
Following Queen Elizabeth’s death on September 8, there were two official tributes areas set up in The Green Park and Hyde Park. Additionally, well-wishers left tributes at Buckingham and Windsor Castle. All of the bears collected from these sites will be distributed to happy children who will now have a Paddington of their own to cherish.
