Could this be what Meghan Makle was talking about? British Royal News says that the Duchess of Sussex has made a rather damaging claim against the royal family by suggesting that they would often plant stories about her in the press in order to make negative stories about other members of the family go away.

Well, soon after Meghan had said that in the latest trailer for Harry and Meghan, a lot of people on social media pointed out that Prince William had tried very hard to make stories about his alleged affair with Rose Hanbury go away, too. Here’s what you need to know.

In the latest trailer for Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex herself also added that the royals would purposely try to make her look bad in the press in order to save themselves. She said, “A story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute and they’d go, ‘We gotta make that go away. But there’s real estate on a website homepage. There is real estate there on a newspaper front cover. And something has to be filled in there about something royal.”

One rumor that comes to mind is the one that suggested William had cheated on his wife Kate Middleton with one of her friends, Rose Hanbury. The royals were quick to dismiss the speculation and even went an extra step to make sure that none of the media outlets would report anything on the supposed affair.

In another trailer for the docuseries Harry and Meghan, the Duke of Sussex suggests that the royal media will go to certain lengths to protect his brother, Prince William, and some of the things that are said about him, but won’t give that same protection to him or his wife, Meghan Markle. He says, “They were happy to lie to protect my brother, but they were never willing to tell the truth about us.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter even though Netflix alleges that they reached out to the palace for comment. Volume 2 of Harry and Meghan drops on Netflix on December 15th.
