Royal Family News – A Date Has Been Set
Royal Family news reveals, according to 7 News AU, Charles is set to be crowned King at Westminster Abbey. Bloomberg reports that government officials speaking on the condition of anonymity had revealed that there were tentative plans for a ceremony on a Saturday.
As Forbes reported recently, Charles became Britain’s new monarch immediately following the death of Queen Elizabeth. However, anonymous government sources are saying that the coronation – a very ancient ceremony where the monarch is officially crowned at Westminster Abbey – has been set for June 3, 2023, though the date is reportedly tentative.
As King Charles III’s Star Rises, Some May Fall
Charles’s mother was coronated almost 70 years to the day and his coronation will reportedly form the centerpiece of a celebration to mark the beginning of his Majesty’s reign. Following the death of his mother last month, Charles acceded to the throne and was named King.
It is largely thought that the coronation will be a slimmed-down version of earlier ones. This would be in keeping with Charles’ plans of slimming down the monarchy as a whole.
In fact, it is believed that there could be some major changes around the corner for some royals. royal commentator Hilary Fordwich spoke to Fox News Digital and said that Prince Andrew’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie could lose the right to be called princess because of their father’s controversial friendship with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
“Unfortunately for Princesses Eugene and Beatrice, their father’s conduct has had rather an adverse and actually disastrous impact on their royal futures,” Fordwich said, adding that “the Princesses are most likely to become Lady Beatrice and Lady Eugenie since their father, Prince Andrew’s, sexual assault scandal has purportedly poured ruin on their chances of becoming working royals.”
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Situation Still Undecided
Other titles that are in question are those belonging to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Archie and Lillibet. As the youngsters are now grandchildren of the monarch, it was expected that they would naturally receive the prince and princess titles.
However, according to royal editor for The Times, Roya Nikkhah, His Majesty hasn’t yet decided how the Sussex’s situation will be addressed. “Harry and Meghan are understood to fear the King may strip Archie and Lilibet of their titles after his reluctance immediately to recognize their elevated status after the Queen’s death,” she wrote.
