Royal Family News: Palace Snubbed Kate Middleton’s Mother

British Royal family news reveals a 2007 report claimed that Kate Middleton, the future Duchess of Cambridge at the time, did not have her entire family members well-received in William’s aristocratic circle, especially her mother who was considered “incredibly middle class”.

Duchess Kate Felt Isolated With Prince William’s Friends During Their Courtship Days

“Snobby Jibes” directed at Kate Middleton’s mother Carole Middleton made young Kate feel isolated amongst Prince William’s pals back when they were still dating. Like most royal couples, their relationship was not without its low points, as the two briefly split in 2007 after reports that their love had died down plagued them for over two years.

Before the split, it was in circulation by media outlets that Kate Middleton wasn’t feeling at home with William’s aristocratic friends, but would always try to smile and laugh away their jibes.

In April 2007, during the couple’s brief split, The Mirror reported that William’s friends often ridiculed Carole Middleton’s career as an air stewardess.

The opinion of courtiers at the time made Kate feel more isolated as they believed that her mother Carole did not speak eloquently enough.

Vanessa Allen, The Daily Mail’s royal writer, reported that a royal insider said: “She [Carole] is pushy. Rather twee and incredibly middle class.”

“She uses words such as ‘pleased to meet you’, ‘toilet’, and ‘pardon’.”

Though Kate didn’t want to pay much attention to the snobs from Britain’s high society, she did fear that she may not be accepted into it.

As for Prince William, getting away from the society from which he was raised was always a welcome change for him. He reportedly loved to spend time and just relax at Kate’s £1 million family five-bedroom home.

Another Palace Insider revealed at the time: “William got on well with Carole. He liked flopping down on the sofas of their Berkshire home, enjoying the normality of that. The Queen was fond of Kate and liked her father.”

Carole And Michael Middleton Called “Social Climbers”

Carole raised questioning eyebrows when on first meeting Queen Elizabeth the II, she greeted her with “Pleased to meet you”, instead of the accepted version: “Hello Ma’am”.

Carole and her husband Michael, a former pilot, became self-made millionaires through their business Party Pieces, a very successful mail-order firm for kids’ costumes.

Their neighbors reportedly branded them as “ghastly” people who used other people to climb higher socially, and some even went as far as to accuse Carole of raising her daughter Kate from birth to marry a prince.

While their relationship was not made easy by the constant press and all the speculations, the couple are now married with three beautiful children: Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3.

Prince William is also said to be very close to his mother-in-law Carole Middleton and is incredibly close to the Middletons.
