What is all the fuss about? Show host Morgan said on air that he disagreed with Meghan and she reportedly called execs to complain, and the next thing Morgan knew he was fired.

Today Ofcom, the UK television regulatory body, voted in his favor by pointing out the validity of Piers’ right to freedom of speech. Yet the channel has stubbornly dug in its heels indicating that Piers is not welcome back.

Royal Family News – Freedom Of Speech Prevails

To be clear, Ofcom, the UK’s broadcasting watchdog, “called attempts to silence the MailOnline columnist a ‘chilling restriction on freedom of expression’ after the Duchess of Sussex was among a wave of people who complained that his questioning of her account of royal racism and suicidal thoughts was ‘harmful’ and ‘offensive’ to viewers.”

According to the outlet, “ITV’s left-leaning former Guardian chief CEO Dame Carolyn McCall is under pressure to explain why she forced him out in March hours after the Duchess of Sussex complained to her directly and allegedly demanded his ‘head on a plate.’”

ITV Doesn’t Want Piers Back

In the wake of the ruling, ITV revealed they, “have no current plans to invite him to present Good Morning Britain.”

Morgan protested ITV’s statement on Ofcom’s conclusion saying that he was, “entitled to say he disbelieved the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s allegations and to hold and express strong views that rigorously challenged their account.”

He said, “Hmmm, ITV have just put out a statement saying I only won the Ofcom case against Princess Pinocchio because my colleagues expressed different opinions to mine. That’s not what the Ofcom report says in its conclusion. I suggest ITV reads it again.”

Despite ITV’s stance, many of Piers’ ITV colleagues and additional broadcasters praised Ofcom’s ruling, “confirming his right to free speech.”

Morgan wrote in a MailOnline column today, “I’m delighted that Ofcom has so emphatically supported my right to disbelieve the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have since been proved to be untrue. This is a resounding victory for free speech and a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchios. In light of this decision – do I get my job back?”
