British royal family news reveals that disgraced Prince Andrew is now off the schedule today for the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle. Before this development there had been speculation he was seeking a return to public life even after being stripped of his titles and patronages by his mother Queen Elizabeth.
It’s been reported that the Duke of York is aggressively asking the Queen for his former status to be reinstated including his ceremonial role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.
This is his apparent wish despite paying a sexual abuse accuser millions of dollars in February. That settled the case without Andrew having to go to court to defend himself. He claims he is innocent.
Royal Family News – Andrew Has Been Stripped
The Duke of York (the town has asked him to give back that title, too) missed the Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month due to a Covid diagnosis. But it was widely believed he planned to attend the annual ceremony at Windsor. It is reported that he intends to be at a private lunch with the Queen and other members of the order.
Buckingham Palace previously stated that Andrew would be at the ceremony, because the honor was, “given to him in a personal capacity by the Queen.” Yet the Daily Mail reports that, “behind the scenes there was deep concern about the spectacle of the shamed prince walking in his robes in public. There were also fears he could be booed.”
Royal Family News – Would Andrew Be Booed?
The public is not in a forgiving mood as shown during the Jubilee when they booed disgraced Harry and Meghan so perhaps the fear of condemnation for disgraced Andrew was well founded.

Adding insult to reported injury, The Sun claims that, “Charles and William also reportedly blocked Andrew from appearing at today’s Order of the Garter ceremony after lobbying the Queen. And, “Despite his non-appearance today, the duke believes he should be included in other royal and state events, The Daily Telegraph reported.”
A source said of the debt-ridden prince, “‘The colonelcy of the Grenadier Guards was his most coveted title and he wants it back.” Note to Andrew: Most people when asked would say they want world peace, but as they’ve found out, wishing one’s fondest desire into existence is actually a tall order.
