Royal Family News: Prince Andrew Has Only “Bad Options”

British royal family news reveals that Prince Andrew’s upcoming court case, in which he has been accused of sexual assault, has him facing the prospect of being queried by one of the US’s, “most feared trial lawyers, with embarrassing questions on everything from his sex life and ‘private parts’ to what he has told the Queen.”

According to the Daily Mail, plaintiff Virginia Giuffre’s lawyer is David Boies who has a reputation as the, “greatest deposition-taker in modern American justice.” It is estimated that Andrew will be quizzed for hours and asked personal questions including about his body parts.

Boies charges $2,000 an hour and among his victories is a case against computing giant Microsoft.

The Mail points out that, “99 out of 100 civil cases settle out of court in the United States,” leading many to conjecture that Andrew and the plaintiff will reach a cash settlement outside of the courtroom.

Royal Family News – Prince Andrew Could Settle Out Of Court

Such an eventuality would spare Andrew further scrutiny into what is already an unpleasant matter. Boies has made it known that he intends to depose around a dozen individuals, with members of the royal family possibly in that group.

If the case goes to trial Andrew could have his testimony heard in court or he could decide to ignore the case altogether and not testify. Experts have claimed that both prospects could be extremely damaging to his already threadbare reputation. As one former US federal prosecutor, Mitchell Epner, said, “This is a very, very bad day for Prince Andrew.”

He told Sky News, “There are only bad options in front of him and he has to decide which of these bad options is his best bad option.”

Either way, it is entirely possible that Andrew’s immediate family could be called upon to testify in the case. This includes his ex-wife Sarah, the Duchess of York, and their two daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.

Will Prince Andrew Testify?

Giuffre’s legal team could potentially ask to question Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Andrew’s 95-year old mother, whose health has been questionable as of late. The prospect of the queen, Sarah, Beatrice and Eugenie answering questions about Andrew’s, “private parts,” is entirely possible according to Florida lawyer Spencer Kuvin. Additionally, Andrew’s medical records are expected to be requested given his claim that, “he cannot sweat due to a rush of adrenaline while on a Royal Navy ship under attack in the 1982 Falklands War fought between Britain and Argentina.” This is germane because his accuser recalled Andrew sweating profusely during an encounter, and he contends that is impossible due to his compromised sweat glands.

The Mail reports that given all of the possible outcomes of a public court trail, “The pressure for Andrew to settle out of court and spare the Queen the ignominy of a sordid public trial was growing last night as he was warned he was in, ‘the last chance saloon with the towels over the taps.’”

To this end The Sun reported that his legal team are facing the,“biggest constitutional crisis in living memory.”
