Disgraced Andrew is said to be meeting with his mom as part of a larger agenda, one in which his soiled past is washed clean, and a return to royal ranks is imagined. According to the Daily Mail the Duke of York is desperate, “to restore his reputation with the public and his mother ahead of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.”
Royal Family News – Disgraced Andrew Has Fallen Out Of Favor?
While a mother’s love may be unquestioned, the court of public opinion is a different matter. Much hinges on Andrew’s decision, “earlier this year … to pay a huge sum to settle the sex abuse scandal case,” brought against him in a NYC courtroom. Andrew denies wrongdoing, but paid millions to prevent having the court go to trial. A weary public has seen and heard enough from Andrew over the years to be over his excuses it appears.
It’s being reported that he is travelling from his Royal Lodge home to see his mom before lunch each day, to make sure that the Queen is, “comfortable and looked after.” Wasn’t that what Harry said he’s doing?
Royal Family News – Andrew Meets With His Mother
Prince Andrew’s mother stripped him of his honorary military titles and HRH title in January before he paid off his accuser in February. Virginia Giuffre claimed, “she was forced to have sex with the duke three times when she was 17,” and a sex trafficking victim of Andrew’s friend the dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
An inside source told the Mirror, “Andrew is doing all he can to make amends for the shame he brought on his family for being involved in such a scandal. He wants to make it up to the Queen which is why he is doing all he can to see her as much as possible.”
But while the source notes that the family wants him away from the spotlight, the queen may not feel the same. To this end Andrew will take part in a public ceremony at Windsor Castle on June 13 and will attend Garter Day ceremonies as a Royal Knight.
The annual Garter Day procession will see the queen and others walk in grand velvet robes and is one of the most significant ceremonies in the royal calendar. “The Queen is sovereign of the Order and appoints Knights of the Garter without input from ministers, meaning that Prince Andrew’s appointment was considered as private.”
