British royal family news reveals that Britain’s new coronavirus pandemic lockdown rules have people scrambling to figure out where they want to be based on the next lockdown period and that includes members of the United Kingdom’s royal family.
Of course, not everyone has several houses, let alone mansions to choose from, but Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall do and their travel plans are making headlines.
Will Prince Charles And His Wife Camilla Leave Clarence House?
Right now Prince Charles and Camilla are at their London home called Clarence House (I want my house to have its own name!) but ahead of strict new travel and gathering rules, they are said to be thinking of escaping to their Scottish property named Birkhall, on the Balmoral estate.
Earlier this year the pair chose their Scottish estate to hunker down in when the UK first clamped down on travel. Now there is speculation that they will repeat that action and travel on Thursday for a one month stay.
The couple has made it a point to spend a portion of every summer there since they have been in a committed relationship. In fact, the estate is so special to them that they spent their 2005 honeymoon there.
Are Prince Charles And Camilla Planning To Hunker Down In Their Scottish Home?
Not only is the UK cutting down on travel it is also limiting the number of individuals allowed at gatherings. The Scottish estate is perfect for social distancing as the 18th-century home is on a 53,000-acre estate.
Charles inherited the stunning property from his grandmother after her death in 2002. A very limited number of photographs have been released of the beautiful property. That all changed when Charles and Camilla chose to isolate there during the UK’s first wide-scale lockdown. That’s because they conducted many virtual events and the home was necessarily seen in all of its glory.
In a video message Prince Charles had with The Prince’s Trust in June, his entire home office was revealed. Royal watchers saw that the gloriously appointed room has gorgeous floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and they viewed a multitude of framed photographs.
The estate’s grand entrance was also on display in June in a video for the 80th anniversary of St Valery-en-Caux. The impressive space features a huge blue porch with four plinths, several potted plants and the front door is a lovely shade of green with a white frame.
