Royal Family News: Prince Charles And Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall To Visit Greece

British royal family news shows that there are travel plans in Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s future. They will go abroad in March for a very special celebration.

The royal couple announced on Friday that they are going to Athens, Greece to celebrate the bicentennial of Greece’s independence.

The country’s Bicentenary Event’s Independence Day celebrations take place from Wednesday, March 24 to Thursday, March 25.

Royal Family News – Travel Plans Are Set

The visit is the couple’s first trip abroad since the third and most recent coronavirus lockdown in the U.K. Their last trip out of the country was to Germany in November 2020 to participate in Berlin’s Central Remembrance Ceremony.

In Greece Charles and Camilla will visit the newly reopened National Gallery of Greece, an event hosted by the President of the Republic, Her Excellency Katerina Sakellaropoulou. Later the couple will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square and then a traditional military parade on March 25.

Clarence House said in a statement, “The Royal Household will take all necessary measures to comply with COVID-19 regulations and guidance in Athens during the course of this event.”

The couple were in Greece in 2018 and Charles’ first visit to the country was in 1998.

The couple will leave the UK during a particularly contentious period in the family’s history, courtesy of his rash and brash son Prince Harry. On March 7 Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were featured in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. At that time they aired plenty of personal grievances against the family as well as showed off loads of dirty laundry they claimed belong to his family.

Harry saw fit to grouse about his personal albeit strained relationship with his father, admitting that the couple’s abandonment of the family and country left, “a lot to work through.”

Royal Family News – Prince Harry Revealed Private Conversations To Oprah

“I feel really let down, because he’s been through something similar,” said Harry, referring to his late mother Princess Diana. “He knows what pain feels like. And Archie’s his grandson.“

Harry added, “I will always love him, but there is a lot of hurt that’s happened. I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try to heal that relationship. But they only know what they know.”
