Queen Elizabeth has so far not attended the races, Britain’s most popular horse racing event. Instead, her heir and oldest son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, “rode first in the carriage procession that typically marks the start of every race day. The horse-drawn carriage ceremony is a welcome sight after being canceled last year due to scaled down measures taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

According to the Daily Mail Prince Charles and future queen consort Camilla rode with Vice Admiral Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt, the master of the Queen’s household. He is the clever one who came up with the name “HMS Bubble” to denote the lockdown crew serving the monarch during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the queen’s youngest son Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex were also in the carriage procession, joined by Lord de Mauley and Lady de Mauley. The Wessex’s had a prominent role in the recent Platinum Jubilee. Today Sophie wore a beautiful blue dress and matching hat, while handsome Prince Edward looked natty in a morning suit and top hat.

Disgraced Prince Andrew was nowhere to be seen, but his oldest daughter Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were there for a second day. The non-senior royal couple arrived in the third carriage of the procession with Princess Alexandra and Countess Mountbatten of Burma.

Princess Beatrice wore a stunning white dress, along with a name tag which some noted had a rather lengthy name attached. She topped off her ensemble with a wide-brimmed hat.
Beatrice made sure to call attention to herself by styling her name with HRH … plus her married name. In contrast her father Andrew was not seen, after missing out on the jubilee and this week’s Order of the Garter Ceremony. Andrew has been in mothballs since settling a sexual abuse case against him out of court in February while also declaring his innocence.
