She appeared in public just twice, on the first and last days of the four day bank holiday. Now comes word that her son and heir Prince Charles had to persuade the 96-year old monarch to appear on the final day.
It was a stunning moment as she stood with her family, the past, present and future on the Buckingham Palace balcony in a single historic moment.

The historic moment happened last Sunday with a source telling the Daily Mail, “The Queen only decided that she would go to London about three hours before the balcony appearance. She was not feeling brilliant but the Prince of Wales had called her and told her she really ought to come if she could.”
“He told her there were so many people desperate to see her and he convinced her to come.”

The Queen then travelled from Windsor to London and was reportedly shocked by the positive response shown to her when she arrived.
They shared, “The Queen was totally overwhelmed by the number of people waiting to see her – she had tears in her eyes before she stepped out on the balcony.”
The outlet reports, “After agreement with the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge, the appearance had been carefully choreographed in the moments beforehand – that the 96-year-old Monarch would be seen with the Prince of Wales to her right and the Duke of Cambridge and his eldest son, Prince George, to her left – a lasting image of the next three generations who will succeed her.”

The Queen also issued a personal message of thanks to her supporters both at home and abroad. Her statement read: “While I may not have attended every event in person, my heart has been with you all; and I remain committed to serving you to the best of my ability, supported by my family.”
Rather than “looking back” an inside source says that the Queen is now, “looking ahead,” and will become, “a more virtual Queen with digital appearances and video calls.”
