British royal family news reveals that Prince Charles’ office, Clarence House, said on Thursday that the future king has tested positive for COVID-19. It is the second time that the Duke of Wales had contracted the disease. Charles tested positive for the virus in March 2020. Since then he has talked about having had only mild symptoms. It is believed that his son Prince William also contracted COVID-19 in spring of 2020 although this has never been officially confirmed.
Royal Family News – Prince Charles Again Has COVID
The 73-year old heir to the throne was due to attend an event in Winchester, England when it was announced that he was, “deeply disappointed,” that he would be unable to attend after contracting the illness. The event was an occasion to commemorate his mother Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years on the throne.
Clarence House tweeted: “This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.” Charles’ wife Camilla has tested negative and she went ahead with her planned engagements in London on Thursday.
Royal Family News – Prince Charles Is Isolating
There was no further information on Prince Charles’ condition and no word on when he last saw 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth. Charles said in December 2021 that he and Camilla had received their COVID-19 vaccine booster shots.
Charles’ last known appearance was on Wednesday. At that time he was at a reception for the British Asian Trust. Pictures from the event reveal him freely moving about the other guests including British finance minister Rishi Sunak and interior minister Priti Patel. On Thursday a spokesperson for Sunak said the minister had tested negative for COVID.

Royal Family News – What is Charles’ Condition?
On Thursday Camilla said she was “very, very honored” that the queen last weekend indicated that she would one day be Queen Consort when Charles ascends the throne as king. Camilla was wildly unpopular in years past, viewed as a home wreaker. But recent polls show that she has come a long way in the court of public opinion. On Wednesday a Daily Mail poll showed that the majority of respondents (55 per cent) of the British public support her becoming Queen Consort.
