Royal Family News: Prince Charles Hires A Trendy Fashion Designer, Huh?

Prince CharlesBritish royal family news shows that Prince Charles has hired his very own fashion expert. He has tapped fashion giant Federico Marchetti, who developed Yoox, to join his team. Yoox is the world’s biggest e-commerce fashion company.

Prince Charles Needs A Fashion Designer

What exactly will Marchetti do for Prince Charles? It seems he won’t be dispensing style tips, his is definitely a corporate role. The 72-year old prince and heir to the throne made Marchetti director of A.G. Carrick, an entity that sells everything from stuffed animals to pillows via Charles’ Highgrove shops and website.

The Move Is Said To Be An Attempt To Increase The Firm’s Sales Numbers.

A source told the Daily Mail, “Federico’s guidance will be invaluable. His record speaks for itself and he will help increase revenue at the company and make it more professional.”

Prince Charles Signs His Paintings With A Pseudonym

It turns out A.G. Carrick is actually Prince Charles’ alter ego of sorts. The name is the pseudonym that Charles uses to sign his paintings. Charles’ self-named business reportedly turned over £4.6 million in 2020.

In 2020 Charles worked with the Yoox Net-a-Porter group to develop a luxury, sustainable fashion collection.

To this end he co-founded The Modern Artisan project with students from the UK and Italy in conjunction with the online retailer. At the time the future king of England said that he was, “enormously impressed,” by the students’ attempts to design fashion pieces that are sustainable.

Prince Charles Believes In Sustainability

He said, “I’ve been enormously impressed by the efforts, the ideas and the vision shown by the artisans from the UK and Italy. Hopefully they will take away a great deal of skill and understanding of sustainable approaches to design and manufacturing that they can apply to their own businesses or future careers.”

“The key for me is to rediscover the importance that nature plays, understand where natural materials come from and how they can be used in exciting and innovative ways. After all, nature is the source of everything.”

To his credit, Prince Charles appears to walk his talk as he said of his clothes, “I’d rather have them maintained, even patched if necessary, than to abandon them. The difficulty is, as you get older, you tend to change shape, and it’s not so easy to fit into the clothes.”
