Royal Family News: Prince Charles Is ‘Thrilled’ His Father Prince Philip Has Been Released From the Hospital

British royal family news revels that today Prince Philip, 99, Duke of Edinburgh, left the hospital to return home to Windsor Castle. He is the nation’s longest-serving consort and spent 28 nights at London at King Edward VII’s Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Philip was seen leaving King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone this morning. He was first admitted for an infection and then he had a successful a heart procedure.

Royal Family News – Prince Philip Has Been Released

Philip turns 100 in June and in less than an hour after his release he was back at Windsor Castle with his wife Queen Elizabeth. The prince was said to be in, “good spirits.”

His son Prince Charles said, “I am thrilled about it. Oh yes, I have spoken to him several times.” Charles spent the afternoon conducting a royal visit to coronavirus vaccination center at Finsbury Park Mosque.

Around noon Buckingham Palace issued this statement: “The Duke of Edinburgh has today been discharged from King Edward VII’s Hospital and has returned to Windsor Castle, following treatment for an infection and a successful procedure for a pre-existing condition.”

“His Royal Highness wishes to thank all the medical staff who looked after him at both King Edward VII’s Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and everyone who has sent their good wishes.”

Royal Family News – Prince Philip Is Back At Windsor Castle

On February 16 Philip went to the hospital after telling his doctor he felt unwell. Two weeks later he was moved to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.

While he was gone the Duke and Duchess of Sussex accused the Royal Family of neglect and racism during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. On the day he was released, the couple were again in the headlines when their friend Gayle King declared that Harry had “unproductive” conversations with Charles and Prince William and that Meghan is still waiting for the family to apologize to her.

Royal experts welcomed the news that Philip was back home. Phil Dampier wrote Prince Philip: A Lifetime of Wit and Wisdom and he tweeted, “Fantastic news. Prince Philip has left hospital after nearly a month. On to the ton!”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said, “Fantastic news that the Duke of Edinburgh has been discharged from hospital and has returned to Windsor Castle. The soubriquet, the Iron Duke, surely applies and everyone will send him good wishes. We look forward to commemorating his centenary on June 10.”
