Prince Charles has made no bones of the fact that he wants to streamline the Monarchy and an expert has predicted he will succeed.
According to royal biographer Angela Levin, the Prince of Wales will, “cut the monarchy down,” to save money.
She adds that this could mean that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who left the monarchy on their own terms and now live in an £11million mansion in California are dumped.

Prince Charles and Prince William were to discuss the future of the Monarchy following Prince Philip’s death on April 9. The agenda included which family members should be working Royals.
In theory, a smaller-sized Firm could have Charles, Camilla, William, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princes George, and Louis, and Princess Charlotte as senior royals.
In effect, other royals could be encouraged to take on paid work to help support themselves and may lose their titles and patronages.
Royal Family News – Is A Slimmed Down Monarchy A Reality?
Levin said on talkRADIO, “Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer.”
“I imagine that might be when Harry and Meghan are ditched from being members of the Royal family. I think the outer edge, which the Queen has wanted to keep together for a very long time for sentimental reasons, which at her age she didn’t really particularly want change which I think is understandable. But he wants to change and I think he will do that.”
Royal Family News – Changes Are Coming
Charles will certainly have the power to do what he wants when he ascends the throne. Already he has gained more power by becoming the queen’s consort.
It was hoped that Harry and his brother William would start to squash their beef following the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral. But several things muddy that vision. First, Harry has been leaking more private family info since the funeral, and second, they plan to reissue their bombastic, trash-talking bio Finding Freedom.
“The Oprah interview detonated a bomb under the Royal Family and most of them are still reeling in shock. The book will not help,” a senior courtier said. Another senior royal source added, “After Oprah, what else is there to say?”

Over the years it seems everyone globally has had to scale back and make cuts. Presidents and Prime Ministers have to organize their teams. The only reason the the Royals have survived so long is because as the writer said it's the Queens long reign. It would be much easier on the children such as Harry if they were raised with strict protocols regarding who does what. It has really confused matters having so many cock's in the hen house, it was sooner or later bound to come to conflict. Charles would do right to put this straight now so Williams children don't have the same issues. Charlotte has already demonstrated headstrong qualities, those cannot conflict with George one day when he is in Williams shoe's. It's better to be organized now than having to deal with potential competition for duties and attention, causing potential family conflict. And then there are the struggling tax payers. People in the UK struggle with taxation for homes, food etc they could really use a break, paying to keep an ever growing royal family is a tax they could do with reducing. If the monarchy is to survive Charles has to make cutbacks just like everyone else because the Royals need to be relatable to the people in that way especially.
There is wisdom in what you say. Prince Charles and William know that cutbacks are necessary. Harry and definitely, Nut-Meg should go…..they are a big waste of the taxpayers' money….they were/are only successful in causing trouble, making selfish demands, and spending money on themselves.
I think if Charles reduced, organized and modernized the Royals service it would help with their popularity.
