Royal Family news reveals Prince Charles recently sent a photo that marked an old fond memory along with a thank you note to fans. The photo came complete with the historical black border used by the royal family on stationeries to symbolize periods of mourning.

Royal Family Fans Receive A Thank You Letter from Prince Charles
Instagram user Lise M shared a “Thank You” card she received from Prince Charles’s office after she sent in a condolence note following the death of Prince Philip on April 9. The letter in which the Instagram user, and others, got contained a black-and-white image of the young prince riding on a small motorboat with his father, at the Isle of Wight. The picture was taken way back in 1958.
“The Prince of Wales thanks you so much for your very kind message of sympathy,” the accompanying message read. “His Royal Highness has been enormously touched by the many generous messages that have been received in recent days; they have provided great comfort at this very sad time.”
The message concluded with the words: “The Prince of Wales sends you his warmest thanks and best wishes.”

Prince Philip’s Royal Family Funeral Reflected His Wishes In Life
It was confirmed that long before the Prince of Edinburgh died, he’d already made plans regarding his funeral procession and the type of funeral that he wanted.
In the wake of her husband’s death, the Queen did not continue with the tradition of black-edged stationeries, instead, hers will reportedly use personalized stationery featuring her crest in black instead of the usual red.

The modern change was predictably done to honor the late Prince who is known for his “witty banters and get-it-over with” attitude in life, and apparently in death. His coffin was transported on the back of a Land Rover and the ceremony, which took place at Windsor Castle on 17 April, was without a eulogy. Prince Charles released a video message a day after the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh’s death, saying that he believes his father would be happy and amazed by the amount of love and support people gave the family in their time of mourning.
“My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him and from that point of view we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that,” Prince Charles, the Queen’s successor shares. “It will sustain us in this particular loss and at this particularly sad time.”
