Royal Family News: Prince Harry Accused Of Factual Inconsistencies

British royal family news shows that Prince Dirty Harry has been accused of being less than factual by a High Court judge. This week it was revealed that the Duke of Excess alleged in bombshell documents that his family struck a “secret agreement” with media executives.

But Judge Fancourt does not like what he called “factual inconsistencies” in Harry’s witness statement in his own battle with the News Group Newspapers (NGN), publisher of The Sun and now-defunct News of the World.

Royal Family News – Harry Inconsistent

The judge stated that Harry’s assertion troubled him “as it contradicted his original argument that he could not sue before 2019 because he ‘did not have the knowledge’ of phone hacking.”

At the same time, News Group Newspapers are arguing that Prince Harry and actor Hugh Grant should have brought their cases to court earlier than they did, and request they be thrown out.

Royal Family News: High Court Judge Accuses Prince Harry Of “Factual Inconsistencies”

“They have argued that Harry was at the ‘epicentre’ of the scandal and argue it is ‘fanciful’ for him to suggest he did not have any knowledge of phone hacking before he brought his action in 2019.”

Royal Family News – Harry Called Out By Media Group

It was revealed this week that Harry submitted a 31-page witness statement in which he alleged that the royal family’s “secret agreement” with NGN, approved by Queen Elizabeth, prevented him from bringing claims.

According to him, the clan agreed to not pursue NGN until after the group’s legal battle with other hacking claimants was over.

NGN denies such a deal existed and the judge questioned “how Harry could simultaneously state he did not have knowledge before 2019 to bring a claim, but also that he was prevented from bringing a claim in 2012.”

Judge Fancourt stated: “Another thing that is troubling me is what appears to be a factual inconsistency in the current pleaded case about the way the Duke of Sussex did not have the knowledge before 2019 to bring a claim and your proposed amendment which seems to say he would have brought a claim in 2012 except for the secret agreement.”

David Sherborne, Harry’s lawyer, was asked to explain why he “suddenly introduced this new evidence without making an application to submit it to the court.” Stay tuned royal fans, Harry could be in for a spot of trouble right before King Charles’ coronation May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
