British royal family news reveals that there is an ish storm playing out over a name change on the birth certificate of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie.

Actually, just one parent’s name was changed. Prince Harry was ok with his name, but “Rachel Meghan” no longer appears on the cert. For Archie’s mom, “Her Royal Highness Duchess of Sussex” is all that appears.
Why? Maybe Rachel Meghan is trying to erase all vestiges of her actress past? Maybe she thinks everyone should address her as Duchess?  Whatever the reason, fingers are now being pointed at whodunit.

Royal Family News – Rachel Meghan Markle Is No Longer To Be Used?

After the change was made public, ridicule rained down on Meghan Thee Duchess. How pompous to tinker with her name some royal watchers claimed. Others were not so generous about her motivation.

Once all the chatter began about Rachel Meghan’s name change, she was quick to absolve herself of any responsibility.

She blamed the palace for the switcheroo even though the palace has not done anything like this to any other royal birth certificates.

The palace was quick to deny her finger pointing however. And now one royal watcher is calling Meghan’s move a “thinly veiled attack” on the Palace. As the record shows, in the past Meghan has called palace aides “vipers.”

The name-change scandal surrounding Archie’s birth certificate isn’t going away and Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English has some light to shed on the messy situation.

According to her, Harry and Meghan the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were assisted by Queen Elizabeth’s former deputy private secretary, Samantha Cohen.

“Mrs. Cohen is not someone given to making significant errors, clerical or otherwise. And nor, for that matter, are the team at Westminster Register Office, who are well-versed in recording royal births,” she wrote.

She went on to say, “But if Harry and Meghan thought this would put a swift end to the matter, they were mistaken. Their thinly veiled criticism of ‘the Palace’ seems only to have escalated the situation.”

English then added that the entire finger pointing incident even led one Palace staffer to be, “reduced to tears of frustration and despair.” Where have we heard that before where Meghan Markle is concerned?
