The Royal Family has a huge year of milestone events coming up and it would look rather churlish if the Markle’s didn’t at least try to attend one or more. Especially relevant is the unveiling of a statue of the late Princess Diana that Princes William and Harry commissioned together.

The last time the four formerly warm and cuddly couples were together was at the Queen’s Commonwealth Day Service in March. This was just after the Markle’s ugly Megxit maneuver which excised them from the royal family in a very public and rude manner.
At the time it was reported that Meghan threw Kate a brusque little wave and the foursome hardly spoke. Royal watchers claimed that William was upset by Harry’s rash decision to ditch the family and the UK for a life of financial wealth in the US.

While William and Kate have been praised for continuing their royal duties and striving to uplift the nation while the coronavirus pandemic rages on, Harry and Meghan have been unashamedly trying to make a fast buck in America. To their credit they have done just that, thirstily acquiring wealth like there’s no tomorrow. To this end they signed on to money-making ventures with Netflix and Spotify.
The priorities and end goals of the two couples could not be more dissimilar so how awkward will it be when they finally do meet again?

They could meet again in 2021 at the Queen’s 95th birthday, Prince Philip’s 100th birthday and the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue.
Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words, told The Sun Online, “I think it’s going to be very awkward if they do meet up. From what I am told the rift is not a lot better at the moment – they are not talking a lot.”

“I think they will put on a united front for the unveiling of Diana’s statue and I’m sure they will put on a united front for the birthday celebrations but behind the scenes, I think there’s going to be a lot of tension.”
