One filmmaker thinks similar fates are inevitable. Royal expert Nick Bullen claims there are significant parallels between Edward and Harry starting with the obvious, their decisions to dump the monarchy for perceived greener pastures.

He also thinks that Prince Harry should learn a lesson from Edward, his great-great uncle. After leaving the monarchy for love, Edward was reduced to a “bit player” on the world stage. In contrast Harry and Meghan openly view themselves as game-changers, VIPs who want to alter the world to fit their idea of woke goodness.
Bullen is the CEO of True Royalty TV and he notes that Edward and Wallis became, “slightly awkward guests at dinner parties in New York,” rather than the glittering stars they once were. To this end he asks, “How long will Harry and Meghan’s value stay at such a high level?”
It depends on what one considers a high level.

“It may seem far from now, but it will happen. What will happen to Harry and Meghan 10 years from now?” he said.
“Will they be the same stars they are now? Some historians have suggested that this is unlikely.” Stars can be stars due to infamy and many think that is the case for the Markle’s who are famous for throwing his family under the bus in search of riches.
Bullen told Fox News that Harry is like Edward in that both left the monarchy to marry American divorcees. Additionally, Edward published A King’s Story: Memoirs of the Duke of Windsor while Harry is currently writing a memoir.

According to Random House, Prince Harry’s memoir is the, “definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.”
“It’s fascinating when you draw the parallels between the two,” Bullen said as both experienced, “sibling rivalry,” and dropped tell-all interviews on their lives within the monarchy.
“Both of them married divorced American women. We all know that, but it goes much deeper than that. Edward and his brother also experienced their own sibling rivalry can be compared to Harry’s strained relationship with his brother, Prince William.”
