British royal family news shows that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are becoming better known for their bitter ripostes than for anything resembling humility or humanity. It’s tit for tat with them, he said, she said. The way they must always have the last word with his family reveals a pettiness unbecoming of the trailblazers who make no secret of wanting to change the world.
On January 8, 2020 Harry and Meghan released their Megxit bombshell announcement and they haven’t stopped talking since. In fact, their next stop is Queen Oprah’s couch and they’ve already promised that it’s a tell-all where no subject is off limits.
Why the limitless need to pronounce, the voracious quest to remake everything in their image? At one time they were content to be a part of something bigger themselves, the monarchy. But it wasn’t big enough for their larger than life ambition.
Now the end stop on their mission to provoke Queen Elizabeth has been applied, their circus finally punctuated with the statement that they are no longer working royals.

In case you missed it, after all it was the same day that Kimye’s divorce was announced, Buckingham Palace issued a statement that Harry and Meghan were no long half-in and half-out, their royal patronages taken back and Harry’s three military medals relegated to the back of the dresser drawer.
Harry had mounted a whiney campaign months ago to keep his honorary military appointments but without a formal role in the royal family, as the Queen wrote to them, this is simply “not possible.”

Three minutes after Buckingham Palace’s statement was issued the Sussexes issued a hotly worded retort that revealed their level of maturity has not risen a bit in the last year.
Buckingham Palace’s statement referenced, “the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service” as part of what it means to be a working royal. It also, even though it didn’t have to, reminded Harry and Meghan that they are “much loved.”

What was their response? “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.” Such a bratty response, the kind a sulky teenager gives when they see nothing beyond the fact that they aren’t getting their way.
Now the Markle’s will get another last word in when they sit down with Queen Oprah on March 7. There’s been a changing of the guard, folks, it’s official.
