Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Debut Spotify Podcast Did Worse Than Whale Sounds for Insomniacs

British royal family news reveals that the first “uplifting” Spotify podcast by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was ranked lower than a podcast that purposely wanted, unlike theirs, to put people to sleep. Harry and Megs came in at 17th place, well below a podcast designed to put insomniacs off to dreamland by listening to whale noises.

The royal couple promised their podcast will “uplift and entertain audiences around the world” as they spoke with a range of people who “inspire us.”

Their debut 33-minute episode was released yesterday and overall ranked low in the ratings charts. The show was billed as a holiday special and was jam packed with VIPs including Elton John, Brené Brown, Deepak Chopra, Stacey Abrams and James Corden.

Despite the low initial showing, over time the podcast rose to the 7th spot today in the UK Spotify podcast charts, and to 26th in the US Spotify charts.

So, what was the uplifting podcast all about? How about discussions on mental health and mindfulness? The show ended with the song This Little Light of Mine which the audience was told played at the couple’s mega expensive UK wedding, funded by the taxpayers.

PR expert James Henderson told The Sun that loading up the podcast with friends was smart on the newbies’ part. “Access to very well-known people willing to talk out about issues and their thoughts and experiences will always command interest.”

But one detractor noted that having their 19-month-old son Archie “talk” during the podcast was in direct opposition to their fierce plea for privacy for him.

And one royal watcher compared the pair’s act to other TV pairs such as Richard and Judy and Holly and Phil. Judi James is a TV expert in social behavior and body language and said the Markle’s reminded her of those celeb teams.

She also claimed that Prince Harry ditched his Queen’s English accent to talk in a more, “slurring mid-Estuary” twang.

According to her, “Describing the podcast as ‘Our tweny-tweny holiday special’, Harry drops the second ‘t’ in ‘twenty’ in a verbal slurring that sounds either American or South London, although the ‘holiday special’ wording probably places it in the US.”
