Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Pompous New Podcast Has Queen Elizabeth Cringing

British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex had a great time kicking their latest venture—a Spotify podcast—into high gear. There was lots of giggles and praise to go around between them as they made their self-congratulatory announcement and now the world eagerly (or not) awaits the actual product.

Royal watcher Bryan Kozlowski spoke to SheKnows to confirm that this sort of blabber fest is precisely what the makes the Queen cringe. Kozlowski published the royal biography Long Live the Queen, and he states that following the Queen’s 1969 appearance in the panned documentary Royal Family, she doesn’t want anyone to try and come off as “regular people” which is exactly what Megs and her hubby tried to pull off in their cheesy intro to what is sure to be an intellectually thrilling podcast.

Addressing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to do a podcast in 2021, Kozlowski gave this probable reaction on Queen Elizabeth’s part: “I think the Queen would probably cringe. Acting just like normal folks with a ‘shared experience’ has rarely worked out well for the Windsors, even semi-retired ones. The Queen briefly attempted it in 1969 (with the unprecedented Royal Family documentary) which quickly backfired. Because ultimately, the point and enduring purpose of the royals is that they are not like us.”

The Documentary Royal Family Was The Firm’s Attempt To Project Themselves As Regular Folk

So, why did the royal family even think about doing such a lowbrow project? Because it was a suggestion meant to mediate their decreasing “relevance.” Once viewed however the project allowed even more material for the public to seize on and criticize the family with.

Why haven’t Meghan and Harry learned from this important lesson? Um, because history isn’t their strong suit?

A Documentary About The Royal Family Gave The Public More To Criticize

According to Kozlowski, “They (the well-behaved [royals]) reflect a magical grace and a dignity we can look up to. They do best when they remember they are role-models; they are not there to pretend their lives and experiences share chummy commonalities with ours. That can get messy.”

Of course, Meghan and Harry seem to revel in messy, as shown by their rude Megxit bomb and subsequent snubbing of the queen and the country Harry left behind. They seem to want to be role models of some kind, but does anyone wish to follow their crude example?
