Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan NEVER Want You To Find Out How Much Spotify Paid Them

British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, or as they prefer to be called, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are rolling in dough as 2020 rolls to an end. Their latest lucrative deal was announced this week, a podcast deal with Spotify.

While they have merrily released a super cheesy intro to their podcast, the thirsty pair refuse to disclose how many millions of dollars they added to their bank account courtesy of the streaming giant.

Nonetheless those in the know believe that the deal is worth tens of millions of dollars. But we, the listeners of this spectacular new Archewell Audio series, shouldn’t expect to be told the exact payday according to royal watcher Katie Nicholl who spoke to 9Honey.

Harry and Meghan’s Spotify Deal Is Worth Tens Of Millions Probably But They’ll Never Say

Nicholl says, “I’m sure that’s quite deliberate, on the Sussexes’ part, wanting to keep monetary details of the deal a closely guarded secret because of course they’re aware that all of these commercial deals will lead to allegations they’re cashing in on their royal connections.”

“They know that. I think they’re going to want to be careful about figures being bandied around.”

Nicholl thinks their latest gig is “big money” for the pair who ditched his family to become wealthy, and likely to be around the same amount as their estimated $100 million Netflix deal.

Meghan and Harry’s teaser clip for the first Archewell podcast episode has dropped and people can’t stop laughing

She added, “It’s going to be a big deal, it’s going to be big money for them because it’s Spotify — it’s like Netflix, they’ve gone for the two big giants of TV and Audio, it’s a very clever move.”

And yet the pair have tried to have it both ways, to be royal and yet not. When the couple left their roles as working members of the British Royal Family, they vowed to become financially independent and yet it seems they could not have done so without trading on their royal monikers. Harry and Megs just doesn’t have the same ring as, drumroll please, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Have Harry And Meghan’s Titles Helped Them Achieve The Boatload Of Money They’ve Gone After?

And yet despite wanting to be free of the royals, they cannot bring themselves to throw off the shackles of their titles which many think are the only thing they have going for them in a celeb saturated world.

“One of the major reasons I was told that they wanted to leave the royal family was for freedom and financial independence and they’ve got both of those things,” Nicholl tells 9Honey.

“They are free to talk about issues and matters they want to talk about and they are cutting very big, life-changing, commercial deals, which they absolutely would not be able to do if they were working members of the royal family — there simply wouldn’t be the time, let alone the inclination for the royals to give the sign off for a multi-million-pound Spotify or Netflix deal.”

“This is all about making money. They need to make money.” But would they be doing that if not for their Dukedom?
