British Royal family News suggests that in the first three episodes of the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to paint the British press as the biggest villains in their story. Here’s what you need to know.

“This has always been so much bigger than us,” Harry says in the documentary. “We know the full truth. The institution knows the full truth and the media knows the full truth because they’ve been in on it.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for some members of the British press, like Piers Morgan, to weigh in on the docuseries.

He wrote in a column for The Sun that Harry and Meghan was a “predictable, cliché-ridden, simperingly sycophantic snooze-fest that fueled their wearily familiar narrative of a cruelly oppressed couple driven out of Britain by a nasty racist media, nasty racist Royal Family and nasty racist public.”

Lucy Mangan of The Guardian wrote: “In the end — what are we left with? Exactly the same story we always knew, told in the way we would expect to hear it from the people who are telling it. It is hard to see who, beyond the media, the villains of the piece, will really gain from this? A period of silence should be welcomed.”

Harry also talked about his mother’s BBC Panorama interview and while he does admit that she was duped into doing it, Princess Diana also did it because she wanted to tell her side of the truth.

He said, “I think she had a lived experience of how she was struggling living that life. She felt compelled to talk about it. Especially that ‘Panorama’ interview. I think we all now know she was deceived into giving the interview, but at the same time she spoke the truth of her experience.”
