British royal family news reveals that the UK’s Prince Harry Duke of Sussex is not taking his snub over Remembrance Day laying down. He asked the royal family to place a wreath on his behalf during the solemn ceremony but they rejected his request since, duh, he threw away his right to be considered a member of The Firm.
One royal expert sees the rejection of his idiotic request as a sign that Hollywood Harry is “expendable,” to them. Well, they have gotten through a global pandemic, which struck down two royals, without him, haven’t they?
Prince Harry is not a working royal so he has no right to expect to be treated like one. The palace was right to refuse his request and his petulant response underscored how petty and tone-deaf he really is.
The Duke Of Sussex Wanted A Wreath Laid On His Behalf During Britain’s Official Remembrance Sunday
And yet historian Robert Lacey appears to feel sorry for the old chap. He told Newsweek, “I think this is an indication that things are worse than we thought. If everything was hunky-dory there seems no reason why a wreath should not have been laid in Harry’s name.”
“If the royal family or the palace wanted to co-operate then it would seem to be a perfectly reasonable request to make that could have been fulfilled. I don’t think it augurs well for the prospects of reconciliation.”
Actually, no. It is not a perfectly reasonable request—Harry threw away his family and his place in it with Megxit.
But Lacey natters on, “On the face of this, it would seem that Prince Harry is keener on reconciliation or maintaining some sort of link than the palace is to granting one.”
Up to now, Lacey has been spot on in his analysis of the messy relations between Harry and his spurned family. But taking Harry’s side in his latest bratty maneuver is misdirected.
If Harry wanted to reconcile with his family he would issue a public apology to erase the ugly scenario he wrought with his public divorce from them.
Prince Harry Is No Martyr And To Think Otherwise Is To Be Sadly Deluded
Lacey seems to entirely miss the point when he claims: “We’ve seen the pictures of Harry and Meghan Markle doing the homage on their own. They are sad, almost tragic.”
He is referring to the blatant and disrespectful PR stunt Harry and his wife Meghan Markle pulled on Sunday after being told to bug off by the royals. These two photo-op loving vipers exploited the memory of Remembrance Sunday by trotting over to an LA cemetery dressed to the nines with the photographer in tow. Harry defiantly pinned his military medals to his chest and was carefully photographed staring blankly at the gravestones of people he has no connection to.
In one glossy picture Meghan, in an insanely expensive designer dress, gawks at a stranger’s grave with her mouth open in what one assumes was staged as a gesture of piety. Make no mistake, these two thirsty money grubbers are no saints and never will be.

I can give one really good reason his wreath was not permitted and it has nothing to do with his family arguments. Harry recently sweepinglly and very judgementaly called the citizens of the UK racist. Now I am not saying racism doesn't exist in the UK, however his comments do an injustice and disservice to many of the UK'S citizens. And it undermines progress to wipe it out! Would a wreath placed on his behalf said " to those fallen who are not racist"? This is just one of many of the couples recent actions where they have not had the intelligence or foresight to see the error of their self-centered actions. It is disgraceful the way they want advise the world so arrogantly with their lack of knowledge and inept behaviour.
I am not for or against royalty my view is if the majority want it their vote wins. I would say however that the Queen knows her place, understands what the people she represents will tolerate and not just the people of the UK but the Commonwealth too. She understands she is not a president who can just try to do as she pleases. She is completely aware her and her royal family are required to perform their duties with certain rules and standards or they put themselves and the countries they represent in difficult situations. I am amazed with both Harry and Megan's privileged education's they are incapable of understanding these things.
It’s a tradition to lay wreaths at veterans cemeteries. It was a nice gesture. This is America. We aren’t as hung up on Royals and their”duties” as Brits seem to be.
The British people want this tradition ,we want to honour those who fought to give us our freedom ,Its a wonderful gesture ,the canadians also on Nov 11th do the same .
It's interesting you dismiss people who take interest in what might be a distant relatives heritage. I wonder would you make the same comments if we were discussing other family traditions such as grandmothers gele, the tradition of the Japanese Samurai? I was watching a program how this inspired a man to fight in the war and how proud his family was. It is not only important to appreciate the interests of others but it can be very educational and rewarding. If you can't appreciate the interests of others that's ok but don't try to belittle or dismissive of them. Being interested in others is the enemy of racism.
People who give their life for the freedom of others should be remembered. I am sure not just Canada or the UK many people in many countries did the same France, New Zealand, Australia and the Commonwealth. Much of the world fought. And people forget or don't understand how not just the British and their royalty stood against this ultimate fight for a multi cultural world. I don't think some people understand Hitler wanted a white, blonde, blue eyed super race and the Royals told them they would not join them but would fight against their racism.
Canada is a beautiful place, what part are you from?
He just used strangers' final resting place as a photo op. Shameful.
I live just north of Toronto ,on lake Simcoe and Couchiching ,very close to the Muskoka's ,Do you live in the states ?.
I don't think this was it at all i think it was a wonderful thing for them to do .Its a British thing to do on Nov 11th .
I live in BC. I have lived in UK and like you I have family there who go back a long, long way. I love history and other cultures. I love other peoples take on life, their views and experiences which have influenced them, that's why I enjoy this hub, when it's snowing outside and cabin fever starts to set in these hubs help to stop boredom. Don't get me wrong, I love the seasons, I wouldn't want sunshine all year long. It's nice to load the fire and have an excuse to sit down. Come spring I will more than ready for a change. Canada is so beautiful and people try be kind and considerate of others which makes its beauty more than just wallpaper.
They had absolutely no right to ask for a wreath to be placed in the traitors name, he is not a member of the hard working Royal Family he deserted them wit h his money grubbing destroyer mistress markle. This was a publicity stunt for the Americans benefit to say look at us poor poor me I am a victim. Enough already the tears etc about the flashing cameras, the media following them as they sit back and plan their next PR stunt anything to try to overshadow the Royal family, they are lower than a piece of shit
Wow .who are you to talk like this ?
