Royal Family News: Prince Harry Hasn’t Defended Princess Diana’s Legacy Like Prince William Has

British royal family news reveals that while Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex has been quite vocal about a lot of things lately, he has not commented on a very concerning matter regarding his late mother Princess Diana. His brother Prince William has been voicing his concern about the incident but Harry has chosen not to mention it.

Prince Harry was 12-years old when Princess Diana died in a car accident on Aug. 31, 1997. Prince William was 15-years old at the time. After Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle Duchess of Sussex ditched the royal family and migrated to sunny California the rumor mill began speculating on how estranged the brothers might be.

In 1995 Princess Diana did a BBC One Panorama interview with BBC journalist Martin Bashir. The interview was controversial as she unloaded about her eating disorder, infidelity, and Prince Charles’ relationship with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall—all before reality TV was a thing.

Diana stunned the nation when she declared, “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

Diana’s Brother Alleged That Martin Bashir Tricked Diana To Do Their Interview

Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, has accused Bashir of forging documents to convince Diana to do the interview, and now the BBC has launched an investigation into the interview. On November 19, Kensington Palace said in a statement that Prince William, “tentatively welcomed the investigation.”

“The independent investigation is a step in the right direction,” the statement. “It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time.”

Prince Harry Has Been Criticized For Not Speaking Up About His Mother’s Interview

Thus, it was made crystal clear that Prince William cares about how his mother was treated, while Harry has not made any public comment on his mother’s possible mistreatment.

Now a source close to Harry has told Entertainment Tonight, “Harry is getting regular updates and is aware of everything that is happening. You do not need a public statement to imagine how he is feeling privately, people know how much his mother means to him. He has bravely spoken out in the past about loss and grief, and the immense impact it has had on him.”

Except that Harry and Meghan do seem to love a public statement to tell the world how they are feeling. Meghan’s most recent public statement was to announce on the day before Thanksgiving that she had a miscarriage in July.
