Royal Family News: Prince Harry Killed His Dream Of Keeping His Military Honors After Latest Move

British Royal family news shows that at least one royal watcher thinks that Prince Harry Duke of Sussex may have sunk any hope he had for keeping his military honors. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle Duchess of Sussex left the royal family in March for financial freedom, something they have attained in spades due to deals with Spotify and Netflix.

Even so Queen Elizabeth has refused to strip away their HRH styles, and they insist on being called Duke and Duchess. In March 2021 a review of Megxit is due including a review of Harry’s military titles which he had to give up in exchange for his financial freedom. Was it worth it?

Prince Harry Was Reportedly “devastated” To Give Up His Military titles

According to Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer, the deals with Spotify and Netflix may not be as problematic for Harry as his urging to “reject hate speech” before the US election this year.

“Nothing has been decided yet but I imagine both sides will make the split permanent,” he said. “It’s always dangerous to second guess the Queen but it looks as if the US political intervention was the final nail for Harry’s hopes of retaining any military patronages on behalf of Her Majesty.”

That’s because members of the Royal Family do not espouse political opinions and they do not vote, a rule Harry flagrantly disobeyed.

The Queen Is Traditionally Politically Neutral And It Is Unconstitutional For Other Royals To Vote

Palmer added the couple mouthing off several times on the US on the election would be seen as a “major breach” in the UK. It was also a major issue for one US congressman who accused the pompous pair of “interfering” in the election.

He added, “It was taken really seriously as a major breach of undertakings they had given voluntarily, unlike the commercial deals as far as I can tell.”

A spokesperson for the couple said at the time that their comments did not refer to a specific political party or candidate but, “a call for decency.” In particular the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in a live video created by Time magazine to celebrate the world’s most influential people and Harry said, “As we approach this November, it’s vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity. When the bad outweighs the good, for many, whether we realize it or not, it erodes our ability to have compassion and our ability to put ourself in someone else’s shoes.”

Apparently history is not his strong suit as he seems to have forgotten that Americans do not take kindly to British royalty trying to dictate their politics.

Nonetheless, clueless Harry nattered on, “Because when one person buys into negativity online, the effects are felt exponentially. It’s time to not only reflect but act.”
