Royal Family News: Prince Harry Made This Huge Mistake In His Legal Battle

British Royal family news says that some people think Prince Harry might have gone a step too far. In fact, Princess Diana’s former police protection officer Ken Wharfe believes that Prince Harry made the unwise mistake of taking legal action over his security matters because he and his family would have never been left without protection while visiting the UK anyway. As many royal fans know by now, Harry launched a legal challenge in which he argued that it was unfair that he did not know the details surrounding the decision to withdraw his permanent security team. Apparently, this all come about soon after Harry and Meghan pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family. Harry has stated in the past that he felt it was dangerous to bring his family back home to the UK because of his lack of security detail.

Wharfe says that Prince Harry made the “unwise” decision of playing his hand in this matter. He told the Mirror’s Pod Save the Queen podcast: “I don’t know whom he advised him to take legal action against the British Government and the Metropolitan Police. I think it was an unwise thing to do because that, in essence, raises negative publicity.”

Wharfe added: “But I think the Government and the Metropolitan Police would have seen it would have been wrong to see this man, a global icon and celebrity in his own right, step onshore in the United Kingdom without any protection whatsoever.

In February 2020, the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (known as Ravec) announced that the Sussexes would no longer get security protection. Shaheed Fatima QC, representing the duke, told a hearing on Thursday: “He should have been told so he could have considered things properly and made representations.If there had been a fair process, Ravek would or could have reached a different decision… the role of the royal household as equal partner in the process was inappropriate.”
