Royal Family News: Prince Harry Sends A Message To Inspiring Military Vet

British royal family news shows that the Duke of Sussex Prince Harry recently guested on the National Geographic show Car S.O.S. in order to touch the life of a fellow military veteran.

Fans of the show watched Harry in a taped message to Lance Corporal Stephan Van Niekerk who lost his legs following an IED accident. The vet asked show hosts Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw for help adapting a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Shaw told Van Niekerk “I’ve got a message for you here” then handed his phone to the vet. Next up Prince Harry was seen in a video message saying “Hi, Stephan, congratulations. I hope at this point you’re sitting in your brand new — or certainly what looks like a brand new — Jeep,” added Harry. “Good on you mate, well done — fully, fully, fully deserved. I can’t think of anyone that deserves this more than you.”

Royal Family News: Prince Harry Congratulates Vet

Harry said of Van Niekerk “After getting injured at such a young age after two tours of Afghanistan, you are the definition of inspiration because you are not defined by your injury” which occurred in Afghanistan in 2009.

Fans heard Harry then say “You are defined by your selflessness to others, to your community, your inspirational talks to young people. And, of course, to your four kids and to your amazing wife, Sadie, who no doubt has got you this far. So full respect, well done you.”

Royal Family News: Prince Harry Does Good

Harry then wished him luck on a bike trip from Canada to Mexico: “just a mere 2,745 miles I think. Good luck with that, I know you’re going to do it. I know you’re going to smash it. I know you’re going to raise a lot of money for [veterans charity] Blesma as well. Other than that, mate, just a huge congratulations. Thank you for your continued service and commitment to others. I’m sure your whole family is incredibly proud of you. I’m proud of you.”

Van Niekerk, who goes by @the_diary_of_a_limbless_dad on Instagram, was visibly moved as he listened to Harry.

Niekerk posted on his page “This is going to be a big one! Tune in as you may just see a very surprised and familiar face Welcome to me. I am a legless dad to 4 kids! Due to injury I have had to adapt my life in a major way but I intend to live it to the fullest!”
