British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry, Duke Of Sussex and Meghan Markle’s recent launch of Archewell stirred the pot for several reasons. The online destination is meant to be the focal point for the couple’s charitable and other endeavors, even though days later they declared they were quitting social media.

They also lauded their mothers on the site but said not a word about their fathers. Meghan is famously estranged from her father Thomas Markle and Prince Charles, the future king of England can’t be thrilled with the way his son abandoned the family for a life of excess in the US.

The snubbing of their fathers by omission was obvious and yet one royal watcher decries that there was no such intent—it’s all a misunderstanding?

According to royal author Angela Levin Harry’s gushing acknowledgement of his mom, the late Princess Diana, and failure to mention his father, was a clear signal.

“There is no mention of his father, the man who saved the couple’s wedding day when he walked Meghan halfway down the aisle, in the absence of her own father,” Angela wrote in The Telegraph.

Yet Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl told The Royal Beat that she thinks Harry had a good reason for only mentioning Diana.

“A lot has been made of the fact that there is a snub – there is no mention of Charles,” Katie said.

“When he was 18, Prince Harry vowed to continue the work of his mother’s legacy. That’s what he said he was going to do. I have no doubt he respects what his father does.”

“He thinks what his father does – particularly with climate change and environmental disasters we face – that is relevant, and it is something Harry is picking up.”

Levin went on to defend Harry’s neglect to mention his father while he feted his mother on Archewell by saying, “But when it comes to his legacy, I think Harry has always been very open that his legacy is about continuing Diana’s work. So it doesn’t surprise me to see Diana on his mission statement over Charles.”

“I don’t think that necessarily means ‘I’m not getting on with my father, there is an ocean between us, I’m snubbing my father’,” she added.
