Today was Queen Elizabeth’s 96th birthday but royal watchers are still fixated on Harry’s bizarre rants thrown out in a Today interview on Wednesday. Among other things, Harry croaked that he is the one protecting Queen Elizabeth.
Royal Family News – Harry Made Outrageous Claims
William and Kate left the London headquarters of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) when a reporter called out to them. The couple was getting their car when a journalist shouted, “Sir, does the Queen need protecting?” William and Kate ignored the awkward question, got into the car, and were driven away.
What was all the fuss about? Harry had an interview with the Today show in which he bragged that he would ensure that his grandmother was protected and had, “the right people around her.” This coming from the man who rejected the monarchy in an ugly fit of pique two years ago and refused to attend his grandfather’s memorial service last month.

Prince Harry did not bother to go into detail nor explain himself after dropping the absurd statements. For example, was the shading royal aides, his family, or both? Whatever his reasons for saying the outlandish things he did, royal experts are united in the opinion that his bizarre rants only further deepened the rift between him and his reportedly estranged family.
Today’s cringe incident was reminiscent of another exchange between William and a reporter after another one of Harry’s now-infamous interviews. Last March Harry dragged his family to Oprah Winfrey and when William was questioned about it he replied, “We’re very much not a racist family.”
After Prince Harry’s latest tirade, royal expert Penny Junor said of the royal runaway, “He’s a loose cannon. He was a loose cannon as a teenager and a young man. He came spectacularly good when he was in the Army and with his charity work. Then, after his marriage, things seemed to go to pot again and he is unpredictable in the things he has said and done.”
