British royal family news divulges that King Charles has made no bones about his wish to modernize the centuries old monarchy he took upon his shoulders on September 8, 2022.
On that day his beloved mother Queen Elizabeth passed away and he became regent. His coronation ceremony is May 8.
Royal Family News: Charles In Charge
The monarch’s efforts to streamline The Firm included kicking out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Few were appalled at the decision as the royal runaways have been on a royal tear for three years, disparaging everything about his family.
In 2018 Queen Elizabeth gave Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage, situated on the Windsor estate. But after Harry trashed his family in his icktastic memoir, Spare, they given an eviction notice.
But the public is enamored of the Wales, William and Kate. Any move Charles might make against them would raise eyebrows. Yet it’s being reported that they will have to “fend for themselves” if Charles has his way. How would he go about this?

According to The Standard, sources indicate that after the coronation Charles and queen consort Camilla will set about making big changes to the overall household, with William and Kate expected, “to finance their own homes.” Sure, that’s a standard method of operation for 99% of the world, but the monarchy is definitely in the top one percentile of privilege and wealth.
Royal Family News: Charles Making Changes
In particular, “Camilla is taking a hands-on approach in finalizing the King’s post-coronation plan. She wants to ensure that the royal household is run according to the Clarence House model.”
This apparently means that Charles will reduce the number of royals who gain financial support from the crown, especially those family members who are not actively involved in royal duties. And, as a way of ensuring that money from the sovereign grant and the Duchy of Lancaster are used wisely, he plans to on “offering competitive salaries and pensions.”
One source sniffed: “There will be staff cutbacks. That has already started. The buzz phrase is ‘value for money.’” But Charles will take his time implementing changes, and they won’t happen overnight. It’s not clear for certain how the budgeting will affect William and Kate as both are very active senior royals with three kids to house and feed. Time will tell …
