Royal Family News: Prince William And Kate Middleton’s National Morale-Boosting Train Tour Sparks Outrage

British Royal family news shows that much has been made of Kate Middleton and Prince William the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge embarking on a multi-train tour on Sunday. The purpose is to thank and recognize essential workers across the country. But the so-called Covid tour has a hit a sour note with some calling out William and Kate for not setting “a good example” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pair is making stops in England, Scotland and Wales but a few royal fans are claiming that the whole shebang is an affront to the British public as they visit places which are under different tier systems, thus have different Covid protocols.

Some Royal Critics Think The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Are Not Setting A Good Example

Kate Middleton and Prince William are trying to boost morale at a time when the country is in a second lockdown and many are feeling the direct and indirect effects of isolating for months. William himself was said to have had the virus this spring although with mild symptoms and now has made a full recovery.

Yet some decry the effort calling the tour itself, “non-essential travel” and questioning the “bypassing” of coronavirus rules.

Not Everyone Is A Fan Of William And Kate’s Current Whistle-Stop tour

There were many positive posts on social media but everyone was in a congratulatory mood.

One person wrote of the tour, “Not really showing a good example to the country we are staying in keeping loved ones safe, not seeing people we care about and they are touring the UK it honestly feels like they are sticking two fingers up and saying we can do as we like.”

Are William and Kate flaunting the COVID lockdown rules in the public’s face?

Someone else tweeted: “Not a great example to set, travelling between counties in different tiers.”

And another person noted the logistics of the tour seem to defy the current rules about travel. The person wrote, “This is classed as non-essential travel during a pandemic, to very high alert areas. They will be travelling from tier 2 to tier 3 areas.”

Despite the smattering of criticism the trip has garnered a mostly upbeat response. One wonders why the pair’s children were not given the opportunity to take the trip as well, no doubt it would be a highlight of their young lives to travel by train with mom and dad. Then again, that move would have probably met with criticism, too.

Maybe it wasn't the best way to handle it given COVID.

I believe the Duke and Duchess were sincerely trying to show the people that they cared very much by making the tour, I am sure all precautions were taken very proud of them for trying. Now watch the other two assholes try to outdo them with some kind of publicity stunt we know they must be in the spotlight
