Prince William Battled Coronavirus In Secret In April Days After His Father Prince Charles Contracted The Virus
Prince William reportedly got the virus in April following the infections of both the Prince of Wales and the UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Surely an announcement that William also had the virus would have shaken an already stirred country. It is said that William was treated at the family home of Anmer Hall in Norfolk where he was in isolation with his family. Palace physicians attended to the sick prince and there is no sign that any other family members in the household were infected.
According to the source, William said at the event, “There were important things going on and I didn’t want to worry anyone.” In the month of April, when he was diagnosed, William continued to work from home making virtual appearances and not uttering a word about his affliction.
That month he had 14 telephone and video calls despite being infected with the deadly disease. On April 16, he opened Birmingham’s Nightingale Hospital during a virtual call and he praised the staff for their “wonderful example.”
Prince William Kept Mum About His Coronavirus Infection So As Not To Worry Anyone
According to the source, “William was hit pretty hard by the virus – it really knocked him for six. At one stage he was struggling to breathe, so obviously everyone around him was pretty panicked.”
He added, “After seeing medics and testing positive – which was obviously quite a shock given how fit and healthy he is – William was determined it should be business as usual though. He was determined to fulfill his engagements.”
At that point, Prince Charles and Boris Johnson had been diagnosed with the virus and in William’s mind, it was better to go it alone rather than involve an already worried country.
Prince William decided not to concern the country with his diagnosis after his father was stricken by the illness
At the same time as he was battling the disease, his grandmother Queen Elizabeth gave a stirring speech known as the ‘We Will Meet Again’ address. The news of William’s successful battle with the virus comes after he and his wife Kate Middleton enjoyed a brief family visit to the Isles of Scilly for a much-deserved interlude.
