Royal Family News: Prince William Commiserates With Those Who Have Lost Loved Ones To COVID

British royal family news reveals that Prince William, Duke of Cambridge found the period following his mother Princess Diana’s untimely and tragic death to be an incredibly painful time.

Several times he has referred to the challenges of this time and how he managed to get through the personal struggle of managing ‘death and trauma’ after his mother’s death.

According to royal experts Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson, Prince William once again spoke about his situation, this time to NHS workers.

The two were interviewed on the Royal Rota and Ship stated, “Prince William spoke to some of the frontline NHS staff and the impact it is having on their mental health. I thought he raised a really valid point in the number of deaths that we are seeing at the moment.”

Throughout the pandemic both William and his wife Kate Middleton have taken part in in-person and virtual visits to check on and commend the frontline workers.

Royal Family News – The Cambridge’s Took A Train Trip In 2020

At the end of 2020 they departed for a three day train trip around the country in a bid to boost morale and personally thank the workers who day in and day out put their own safety on the line to serve others.

During frequent stops there were various forms of entertainment including local bands and the couple spoke to the people gathered to catch a glimpse of them.

Not everyone was happy with their trip however. Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, was not pleased with the incursion into her territory ostensibly due to COVID travel restrictions. It later emerged that she had communication with the palace beforehand suggesting that the trip was not welcomed by her.

Of the death toll Ship continued, “Let’s remind ourselves that this week alone we have hit the highest number of deaths in a 24 hour period twice this week so far. Prince William was speaking on how that affects those on the front line and he was speaking with some personal experience.”

No doubt he will continue to be comforting presence as the country remains in its third lockdown to date due to COVID. It was previously reported that he himself was afflicted with COVID last spring although the palace has not confirmed that news and neither has William.
