Royal Family News: Prince William Flies To New York In September, Earthshot Prize Summit Presenter

British royal family news divulges that William the Duke of Cambridge will be in New York City next month for an event connected to his Earthshot Prize.

The future king will be in town to attend an, “innovation summit for his Earthshot Prize ahead of this year’s award ceremony. Prince William will travel alone on 21 September, and will be joined by previous winners of the global £50m environmental competition.”

According to the Independent, William’s visit to the US roughly coincides with his disgruntled brother, Harry the Duke of Sussex’s, visit to the UK. It is thought that Harry and his wife Meghan will be back in California by the time of William’s visit. It is not clear if the warring brothers will meet.

William’s trip is his first to the US since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ripped apart the monarchy with their defection, aka Megxit. In 2020 they announced their malcontent with the monarchy and let it be known they needed more money after his father Prince Charles took away his allowance. They claimed that “financial freedom” was behind their move and they immediately started trashing his family over perceived misstatements. Their biggest fail came during an outlandish Oprah Winfrey tell-all in which their statements were later shown to be false.

William launched the Earthshot Prize last year. The awards are open to people from across the world who dream up creative solutions to the planet’s environmental concerns. This year’s awards ceremony will be held in Boston in December and it is thought that William’s wife Kate Middleton will accompany him at that time.

The UN General Assembly and Bloomberg Philanthropy will co-host the September summit which occurs during New York City’s Climate Week. William is expected to deliver a speech to the guests which include world leaders and prominent philanthropists.

Sadly, Harry recently tried to give a speech at the UN but attendance was lackluster, including just a handful of people, one of them his wife.

Hannah Jones is the chief executive of Earthshot and of the award intentions she said, “Through a powerful discussion on collective action and investment in game changing innovations, we will ask the brightest minds to turn urgent optimism into action.”
