Royal Family News: Prince William Gave Kate Middleton Every Chance To Leave Him For This Reason

British royal family news shows that Kate Middleton and Prince William have been married for over a decade now, and have three lovely children: Princes Louis and George and Princess Charlotte.

Theirs appears to be a true modern-day fairytale, full of love and commitment.

But it can be said that there is a price to pay for living a life of glamour and ease. For example, amid the lavish luncheons and delightful vacations, there are prying photogs ready to pounce at one’s worst moment, and the rumor mill is always churning.

Royal Family News – Why Did William Wait?

Despite their fairytale lifestyle, William waited a long time to put a ring on it and his seeming reluctance led to Kate Middleton being dubbed “Waity Katey.”

Why did Prince William take his time in securing his future with Kate? William apparently had real concerns over subjecting Kate to the demands and punishments of royal life and Marie Claire notes that, “according to insiders, it was due to these concerns that Prince William waited so long to propose in the first place.”

In fact, William himself has talked about the situation. During the couple’s 2010 engagement interview, he said he wanted to give Kate, “an opportunity to back out of royal life.”

Royal Family News – William Is Considerate

He told ITV’s Tom Bradby that he wanted Kate and the Middleton family to have eyes wide open before committing to the circus that royal life can sometimes be, “I really want to make sure that they have the best, sort of, guidance and chance to see what life has been like – or what life is like – in the family,” he said.

“That’s kind of almost why I’ve been waiting this long is that I wanted to give her a chance to see and to back out if she needed to before it all got too much.”

This puts his reported advice to Prince Harry about “going slow” with Meghan Markle in context, doesn’t it? The rift between the brothers apparently started after William allegedly urged Harry not to rush his relationship with the basic cable actress. Instead Harry acted like Mario Andretti and put the petal to the metal. And how did that work out? In hindsight William not only appears to be a kind and considerate husband, a loving father, but also a freaking sage.
