Royal Family News: Prince William Putting His Foot Down Over Prince Andrew

British royal family news shows that Prince William will take the throne after his father Prince Charles, who will follow Queen Elizabeth. Many Brits have voiced the opinion that William should leapfrog Charles, but that seems unlikely. What is likely is that William is already exerting his power behind the scenes.

Royal commentators Richard Eden and Kate Mansey told Mail Plus’ Palace Confidential, that recent events have thrust William farther forward than ever before and he is responding to the challenge.

Host Jo Elvin said, “Speaking of William’s voice, Richard, we have often heard that Charles really likes to shy away from any kind of confrontation, which would add more credence to that idea that it was William who put his foot down [for Andrew to not attend Garter Day].”

Eden replied, “Someone said to me a few weeks ago that Prince William’s been, in their words, sort of throwing his weight around a bit. At the time, I was a bit dismissive but they said there’s been tensions between him and Prince Charles over this.”

He added: “I thought this really did seem to be an example where he was saying enough is enough, no way am I going to be there.”

Eden then explained that, “Royal correspondent Robert Jobson reported how there had almost been an ultimatum by William that he’d said, you know, I won’t go if Andrew’s going to be parading through Windsor.”

What’s wrong with Prince Andrew? Although he has repeatedly denied the allegations made against him, in February he made an out of court settlement for millions to a woman who said he sexually assaulted her when she was a minor, on three occasions. Virginia Giuffre was a self-reported sex trafficking victim of Andrew’s dead convicted pedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew’s other friend, Ghislaine Maxwell is awaiting sentencing on similar charges.

Thus Eden explained of Andrew’s possible public appearance, “it would have been a terrible look and it’s good, it’s reassuring, that William knows that and he knows how damaging that is.”

Mansey replied, “This is the modernization of the monarchy in real-time because here you’ve got your birthright, but for the first time you don’t just have to be born into your HRH, this is a totally new thing, that you have to continue to deserve it. Andrew feels very sore about it.”

In the wake of the sex scandal lawsuit, Andrew was forced to step down from royal duties and stripped of his titles, but some assert he is planning a return to the forefront.
